Mark is a specialist anaesthetist practising in Melbourne. Mark has a public hospital post at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. This role provides an opportunity to help supervise and instruct trainees and other health professionals. Mark is based at Victoria Parade Anaesthetic Services in East Melbourne. His private practice covers many areas but with a focus on anaesthesia for eye, ear, nose and throat surgery and gynaecology. Mark is a Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and is a recent Victorian chair of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists

Doctors undergo specialist training to become anaesthetists. Australian anaesthetists have completed at least five years of medical school, two years of medical residency and five years of specialist training. Mark studied medicine at the University of Melbourne, undertook residency at the Alfred Hospital and undertook specialist training at Monash Medical Centre and at the Mercy Hospital for Women. He completed his fellowship training with a fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2008, focusing on cardiac anaesthesia and the use of ultrasound in anaesthesia.
